I am deeply saddened to hear that we have lost Nick, a gifted music teacher who inspired hundreds of children to play music. How many children went on to study music because of his enthusiasm?
I used to take my son Matthew to play in the practice sessions of the Training Dance Band and then as he progressed to the Senior Dance Band at Aylesbury High School during the mid to late 1990s. I would sit and listen at the back of the hall. I remember being bowled over by the vivacious and exciting sound that Nick got out of that Band - it was amazing. Nick was a brilliant and charismatic teacher who inspired his pupils to play their best. The numerous prestigious competitions that the Band won were testament to that ability to encourage and inspire. I am so pleased to have the CDs that were subsequently recorded during that time. I have so many enjoyable memories of listening to the Band play and feel very privileged to have shared those experiences. We send our love and best wishes to Kathy during this time of sadness.
